Mr. Pearson is currently President and CEO of Orion Marine Group, Inc., a leading U.S. heavy civil marine construction company (NYSE: ORN), having been appointed in November 2006 and serves as a Director on its Board of Directors. Mr. Pearson joined Orion Marine Group as President and COO in March 2006 from Global Industries, Ltd. (NASDAQ: GLBL), an offshore marine construction company, where he served as COO from May 2002 to November 2005, and SVP, Strategic Planning from February 2002 to May 2002. Prior to joining Global Industries, Ltd., Mr. Pearson served as a GM for Enron Engineering and Construction Co, overseeing marine construction projects from 2000 to 2001. Before that, Mr. Pearson served as EVP for Transoceanic Shipping Co. in 1999, and President and CEO for International Industrial Services, Inc. from 1997 to 1999. From 1973 to 1997, Mr. Pearson served in various management capacities during a 25-year period at McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE: MDR), an offshore marine construction company, including VP and GM. Mr. Pearson served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 through 1972 as a 1st Lieutenant Infantry Officer.
Mr. Pearson received his Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1969 and is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in Louisiana, Texas, and Idaho. Mr. Pearson served as President of the Board of Directors of Louisiana Tech University’s Engineering & Science Foundation, a corporation that supports the activities and programs for the Dean of the College of Engineering & Science at the university. The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has designated Mr. Pearson a Governance Fellow.
